I've worked in ceramics over quite a long period but most of the pieces have found their way into other peoples houses. After a bit of a break I got involved again with this lovely tactile activity at the Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh. We spent just a little bit too much time chatting and going to the pub so some of the pieces never got glazed.

I call this Escher's Egg.

I decided to play with some abstract forms to see where they went and this is one of the pieces that emerged.

The racing car.

Originally it stood perfectly upright. Then it got knocked off a shelf and landed on the floor. Its new dynamic hard-cornering shape was so appealing I just worked with it.

The serpents.

I was watching a program on making bread when I came
up with the idea for these little chaps.
